There is nothing more Canadian and delicious than the fresh baked Buttertart. Its gooey centre running down over your fingers as you try to eat it warm out of the oven is one of the most Canadian experiences out there. You can fill that butter and syrup filling with pecans, raisins, coconut, or just plain – whatever your taste buds require. Here at the lodge we bake our buttertarts quite regularly to keep up with demand. Our American visitors like to buy them by the dozen to take back home as a great treat and reminder of their visit to Canada. Enjoy – but remember to eat buttertarts responsibly!
